About
Who I Am
I'm Alex, and I run this site. I'm not a journalist and I'm not affiliated with any AI company — I'm someone who uses these tools every day to get actual work done.
That distinction matters. Most "best AI tools" articles are written by people who spent twenty minutes with a free tier and then ranked fifteen products. I don't do that here.
How I Test
Every tool reviewed on this site goes through the same process:
- Real task, not a demo prompt. If I'm testing a writing tool, I use it on
a piece I actually need to ship. If it's an image tool, it's for a real project.
- At least two weeks of use. The first-hour impression is almost always wrong.
Tools that look magical in a demo fall apart on edge cases; tools that look boring often turn out to be the ones you keep using.
- I note the failures. Every review includes what went wrong — errors,
rate limits, weird output, pricing surprises. A review without a drawback section is marketing, not a review.
- Screenshots come from my own screen. No stock images, no marketing
material from the vendor.
What I Cover
- AI chat and reasoning models — which one for which job, and where the
free tiers actually end
- Image generation — practical workflows, not prompt-collection dumps
- Video generation — the most expensive category, so cost control matters most
- Voice and audio — dubbing, narration, music
- API access — for developers who want to wire these into their own apps
Independence
I buy most subscriptions myself. When a vendor provides free access, I say so in the review.
Some pages contain affiliate links and advertising. This never changes a verdict — if a tool is bad, I say it's bad, and I've published negative reviews of tools that pay well elsewhere. That's the only way this site is worth anything.
